Purpose
Standard polystyrene film with a thickness of 35 µm is intended for verification, calibration, qualification (IQ / OQ / PQ) of Fourier transform infrared spectrometers (FTIR spectrometers).
The standard polystyrene film meets the requirements of article 2.2.24 of the European Pharmacopoeia and similar pharmacopoeial articles of national pharmacopoeias. The overall dimensions of the film and the transmission windows allow it to be installed in standard mounts of any IR spectrometers.
The film is assigned the values of reproduction of absorption maxima in the IR spectrum at the following wave numbers (the values of wave numbers at some peaks may vary from lot to lot and are specified in a specific document for the reference material):
3082.5; 3060.0; 2849.8; 1942.9; 1802.8; 1601.5; 1583.0; 1154.5; 1028.5; 907.0; 841.3 and 540.4 cm-1,
the limits of the permissible absolute error of the assigned values of wave numbers are ± 0.5 cm-1.
